What is Bike Breath?!

While technically not a medical condition, Bike Breath is a symptom of being so deeply immersed, obsessed or even pickled in cycling culture it can be smelt on your breath.

Bike Breath is a YouTube Channel founded by Brendan Colameco and Emma Kent, two lifelong creatives currently living in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Emma is a multi disciplinary visual artist, mostly focused on painting. Brendan is a musician who previously worked full time as a touring and recording artist. Riding bikes has always been a big part of our lives. We don't see bikes as only a tool for adventures, there's a whole lifestyle and community we fell in love with, a lifestyle filled with creativity and playfulness. While the Bike Breath YouTube channel started around 2024 it's roots go back to the pandemic when cameras entered Brendan's life. Over time we unlocked a shared passion for capturing the bike lifestyle we believe so much in.

The Why: Cycling content and media often centres performance and cutting edge tech, but we find ourselves drawn to the aesthetics and simplicity of life on two wheels. Since we can’t shut up about bike stuff and have a compulsive need to create things- Bike Breath was name we gave our creations. We’ve always admired how skateboarding culture is as much about the physical and creative act of skating as it is about the fashion, community and culture and see so many parallels to our corner of the cycling universe. Call it alt, non-competitive, adventure- we're happy with whatever ya want to label us. We’re just happy to document and celebrate the side of cycling that has improved our lives and mental health including but not limited to: steel bikes, all terrain riding, coffee (inside & outside), community group rides & fun bike events, old bikes- new bikes, colourful bike shit- you get the picture. We take the unserious bike world very seriously.
